Pay it forward: Yes sir

Pay it forward is a movie about a young boy who tries to do some good actions in his own ways because of his teacher's homework. The director of the movie is Mimi Leder, and it stars Kevin Spacey (Mr. Simonet)Haley Joel Osment (Trevor) and Helen Hunt (Trevor's mom).

The movie was a really entertainment from the beginning until the end. First, the actors did a really great job, especially the main characters. We could see that they were really into it and they showed the right emotions. Plus, the plot was a real masterpiece. I would have never predict the end of the movie because of all the twists and turns that were present inside. I especially liked the end because it was shocking and unpredictable, which made the movie even better. And, for other details like music and cinematography, I can say that it was all perfect, it both helped in the greatness of the movie and his plot.

So, if you have read efficiently the last paragraph, you know that I greatly recommand this movie to anyone who wants to be entertained with a movie that can be as funny as sad, and that makes you think about life and it's purpose. A must see !

Wonderland, I'm coming !

This weekend, I'm going to Toronto ! Yeah ! We're going to see an Upper Canada Village, we will go shopping at Eaton Center, and lots and lots of other things. But, the thing I' m the most excited about is our journey in Canada's Wonderland on sunday.

Canada's Wonderland is a big amusment park with lots of rollercoasters and a lot of beautiful guy without shirt, i'm so happy to go there! Maybe I will find my soulmate! I expect him to be really taned and to have at least a 16 inches canon. I mean, the kind of canon with bullets... not the one you all thought, BIG PERVERTS !!! Anyway, I like to walk near the shore and to take long bath  with my beloved. If you think you correspond to this description, call me maybe.... 438-275-8617...

PS: Fannie Nadeau wrote the second paragraph... I didn't... I'm 100% heterosexual. Thank you.

The Dark Knight Rises: Awesome movie

On sunday july the 22nd, my homestay invited my roomates and myself to go see The Dark Knight Rises, the new batman movie. So, we headed to the Barrhaven cinema and the movie started at 7:05.

At the end of the movie, I only had one word in my mouth: AMAZING. Every single batman fan should watch this last movie of the serie, and I'll explain why. First, the movie is full of action as always. Christopher Nolan did a great job to introduce the battles, the murders, the epic fights, etc. Their was so many twists and events in the movie that no one could even get his eyes off the screen for two seconds. For every action movie fan, TDKR is the perfect choice this summer.

Plus, Batman himself was pretty amazing. The people who saw the two other movies of the saga (Batman Begins & The Dark Knight) will know that the last time we saw Batman, he was escaping from the police because he was wrongly, but intentionnaly accused of the murder of Harvey Dent. Well, in this movie, we see an old and injured Bruce Wayne, but who is still as powerful as before in Batman's clothes. He still keeps his strange and mysterious attitude, but if you watch the movie, you will see a big evolution late in the story in his personnality. Plus, you will have the chance to see new gadgets and amazing vehicles, all properties of Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Finnaly, the story itself was pretty good. We saw the rise of a new evil guy, who is wearing a mask and has a twisted mind. Once again, Gottham City is in danger, but this time it's in a way different way (I won't tell you, you will have to see it yourself!). The story keeps the spectator entertained for all the movie, and their are a lot of turnarounds. It is a must see movie !

LMFAO at Bluesfest

Thursday 5th 2012, the day I saw LMFAO on concert.

It first started when I was walking at the Rideau Center with some other friends. It has been only 3 days that we met and we wanted to know each other more by hanging out together. At this moment, I didn't know that 5 hours later, I would be at the Bluesfest, watching LMFAO live. We were just talking when we met at the Bluesfest's tickets' stand Anne-Catherine and Julie, two other Explore students. Because we knew them, we started chatting with them, just for fun. That's when they asked us to go to LMFAO concert with them if we had nothing else to do.

At first, I wasn't sure. The concert was late in the night I didn't want to break my curfew ! But Anne-Catherine and Julie were so insisting that we didn't really had the choice. So I called my lovely homestay to tell her the news, and she gently accepted to let me come home later that night. We bought our ticket for 50$, which was a pretty good price for a show. Then, at 6, we ran to the Bluesfest place, because we didn't want to miss the first singer, Carly Rae Jepsen (Call me maybe!). After that, we waited until 9:30 for LMFAO to come, which was really long.

9:30 arrived, and LMFAO entered the scene. Right at the beginning, the crowd was on fire. We could barely hear each other because of all the noises. Songs after songs, the crowd was getting hotter and hotter. Everyone was jumping and dancing... It was chaos. We even almost got stumped by a woman who was doing body surfing !

At the end of the show, we came back really tired, but satisfied. The show was great from the beggining to the end, and I don't regret coming. The only thing that went bad is that in the morning after, we had class, and I was so tired that I almost slept in class :(

Just a little story

My story today will be about the time I met two french girls with some of my friends.

Monday the July 9th, my friends and I were in Downtown Ottawa. It was at night and we were waiting for the show Mosaika, near the Parliament, to get started. While we were waiting, we started getting bored and we wanted to talk to other people to entertain ourselves a little bit. So, after a few minutes of intense searching, we found two french girls, who were both sisters. They both came from France, in a suberb outside Paris. One of them was 17, and the younger one was 15. They were on a trip in North America to learn english, like us.

It was a really funny night because those french girls were as bad as us in english, so we had fun talking to each other. Those girls were really kind, and they thought us some french expression that I found really amusing. For example, a hot woman in France is called "Une femme canon". Also, when you like something in France, people say "Je kif grave". They thought us a lot of other expressions that I'm not going to say, because some of them are really innapropriate. After this, we all went home, because we had school the morning after, and it's important to sleep a lot before going to school.

So, that was the story of the french girls. I told this story because it was this tale that made me really like staying in Ottawa, and it made me being closer to my friends. I'm really glad that this night happened, and I hope i'm going to have other stories to tell you guys at the end of my trip in Ottawa !

Presenting myself...

Welcome to Stefan Rakoto's blog, where everyone's dream come true !

My name is Stefan. I'm 16 years old and I live in Montreal. I come from a little island near Africa called Madagascar. I love travelling: I've been to many countries like Canada, United States, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, England, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Madagascar. I also love sports: soccer, basket-ball, tennis, rugby, but most of all, something interesting about me is that my favorite sport is hockey, and I'm pretty good at it.

This summer, i came to Ottawa to improve my speaking in english, because I'm good in writing and listening in english, but I cannot speak well in english, so I'm here to practice with other people. In the next 5 weeks, I'm looking forward to make good friends in the Explore Program and to be bilingual.
